Well, surprisingly enough, after the February !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , we were allowed back for Cars and Coffee...although with a large amount of these guys present.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
OK, so there were a few newer than that with folks actually working.
I lol'd.
This FD sounded NASTY. In only the best of ways.
You can see my buddy Dave's C5Z in the background. This was before he became my buddy Dave that merged a little aggressively and became friends with the local constabulary, who was not very pleasant. Thankfully, there was a Geo Prism doing 20 under the speed limit bouncing between lanes in front of me, which kept me from being...you know...just like Dave.
Road Runner had a complete drivetrain and interior swap from a new Challenger. VERY well done.
Nice, original 67 Coronet 440
I really liked this CL. Not sure why, but I did.

Is it always the 3rd weekend of the month? I'll be at Sebring for the 12 hours this weekend, but I'll keep aware of it.

Car was all original, and in outstanding condition too.

Because racecar?

Seems like it. As old MOPARs in that condition usually are, really friggin expensive too. Thanks Barrett Jackson :/

Barrett-Jackson really doesn't have much to do with original car values though...it does cause some fluctuation though. Dad has a 68 Hemi Charger that's 100% original...right now it's originally half torn apart, and a 68 Super Bee that's original except for a bad respray by a previous owner. Because of the Charger, I tend to keep my eyes pretty glued to the Mopar values. The problem was all of the cloned Hemi cars of a decade ago, specifically, the over-restored cloned Hemi cars. I got a chance go to Barrett-Jackson in the fall of 2010, everything there is so damn clean it's unreal. It's all unnaturally clean. I've never been to another auction with cars like that.

I do agree with you on the notion of over-restoration. In my opinion, clone cars are kind of pointless. They probably pollute the market too as you seem to be inferring. When you really consider it old Mopars or any old muscle car for that matter was a mass-produced American car from the 60's and 70's. The quality on some of these restorations is just simply not historically accurate. That's why I prefer "survivor" cars to "over-restored" cars. You get to see all the tiny details possibly left out in a normal restoration. Even though the car is not as "shiny" the car is an accurate representation of its time period. Some restorations though are positively OCD in their restoration process.

I like the idea of the clone car, in the sense that you can make something that you're willing to drive. The biggest offenders were the E-Bodies overall, you couldn't turn your head for a few years without seeing one. The thing that I want to see are the plain old regular cars getting some attention...the Charger with the 318 2bbl should be saved and not immediately cloned into an R/T, same for the Dart with the slant-6, or the Plain Jane 318 Barracuda. They were a part of history too.
I completely agree with the survivor car notion. The big debate that's ongoing is should the Charger get repainted or not. The paint is in good condition, but the car was a DD in the early 70s, and has door dings, and has had a panel repainted...

The aqua paint with the canary calipers looks SWEET. That's why.

Yea I like seeing more normal trim levels of classic muscle. I'm not an expert on paint. All I know is that if a panel has been poorly repainted thus making that one panel look 'off' then I'd do a full body respray. If you're willing to spend the coin. I found a chart on 1968 Mopar color codes if that helps at all.
