For me, the Chevys win from the front in '55 and '56. I can't get over those dropped headlight bezels on the Pontiacs.
The '57 Safari, though, is the winner, IMO.

Well, the Nomad always seems to be more popular, but aside from an unfortunately vague front grill on the 55, the Safari just seems to have cleaner lines and more consistent purpose - it also fits better with the gate chrome + Pontiac signature chrome lines and the type of fin I prefer - less garish tip/edge decoration, more elegant wood high-back chair in chrome sort of rounded thingies.

I had thought all '55 Safaris had the overbusy grill with an extra bar, but it looks like some don't.
