No...just No. Not a Hyundai..ever. I would take a second hand vehicle over a new Korean engineered car any day of the week. If I was buying a commercial sailing vessel however..Hyundai Heavy Industries would be on my list of places to go,they build big ships...fast

Why not a Hyundai car? Have you driven a Genesis? Coupe or sedan. They're quite impressive.

We are not talking about Toyota. We are talking about Hyundai and your assertion that their luxury and refinement eclipsed the Japanese.(which is a patent overstatement )

Oh I thought you sent me the recalls to point that out. I responded with the same information for the Japanese equivalent pointing out how they were just as bad if not worse off.

My recalls were to support my case for preferring a used vehicle over any Hyundai engineered automobile. Not going to buy one ever. If I am making choices with my money its going to be going to North American engineered, produced vehicles.Chinese goods are also really low priority (try and not buy Chinese goods-its hard)
No Hyundai...not not now not ever at any price. Not xenophobic or racist, just not going to buy Korean cars. (owned 3 Japanese cars..all stalwart performers..)

Every automaker has recalls. You aren't making a good point

The only point that matters..is my answer to the question. No Hyundai's meet or exceed my personal minimum standard for day to day transportation.
I will drive a second hand vehicle produced in North America rather than buy a new Hyundai. If I was given a new Hyundai I would sell it for 50% of the sticker price and buy something else.

Not that it matters, I did a road trip in a 2008 Hyundai Tibron 5 speed from Edmonton Alberta to Dawson Creek British Columbia and then back. Enough seat time to make a qualitative judgement. It was decently optioned but No Nav or Leather Seating. At this time I would like to say I have known 1 other owner of a 4x4 by Hyundai neither of these two owners bought a second one. I concur and of course will not be buying a FIRST
