A rare feat for a great car, or even such cars which have rarely seen above 100,000 kms and we meet this is rich Jalop who simply loves his car over everything else and he also put up those KMs by driving HIMSELF!

And that is a nice portrait and you should see how he spent 167,000 liter of Super Plus fuel to clock up those KMs because I am not in a mood to write the summary here.

Driving yourself in a Maybach is like using the self-checkout at a grocery store; someone else is supposed to do it for you.

BUT this is still prettydamn cool.

How unfortunate. Has his chauffeur been unwell?

I joke. Its an amazing car, but the amazing bit is in the back with the TVs and champagne fridge, surely.

That's a true Jalop right there. It's not easy to read because of the translation, but it's definitely worth it

Yeah I agree for a Maybach, but then what's the point of the two-seater Rolls Royce Drophead Coupes? They must be something to drive to.

My girlfriend LOVES using the self-checkout line.

Perhaps I should talk her in to buying a Maybach and driving me around in it? *

*sleeping on the couch tonight.

You're only on the couch if you make her wear the chauffeur hat.

This is pretty awesome, but you'd think he'd have a better car for driving than a Maybach, as most reviews read that it was shitty to drive and its mostly made for the backseat passengers. I believe Mercedes actually encouraged auto journos to ride in the back, rather than drive it for their reviews. A bentley or rolls seems like it would fit this guy better. Props to him

I didn't click the link, so maybe I'm missing something here, but who buys a 62 with the intention of driving oneself? Seems he could have saved some money and gone with the smaller 57.

The article mentions he bought a BMW 760Li.

Dude, the world doesn't like to drive the manual cars yet we do. Everyone has their own tastes and liking. If you go to India, you will find people who take care of their Suzukis and Corollas like you would your 911 GT3 RS, despite them being horrible, horrible cars. Its just how the world is sweet bro. He loves it and actually likes to drive his expensive car unlike other owners. Cheers.

I have no issue with him driving a Maybach himself rather than being chauffeured, but the 57 would be better suited to that than a 62. It's like buying a Suburban when all you really need is a Tahoe. To each his own though.

I use self-checkouts all the time.

I don't have to interact with humans that way, and it makes me feel slightly more self-sufficient. Because I'm very sad.

When I use the self-checkout I lock eyes with the cashiers standing watch and mouth "you're fired".

You could argubly say the same thing of the Mercedes S-Class. Friend of mine has an '02 S430 and it's defenitely the kind of car that's better enjoyed when you're riding in the back.

Only rarely. The worst is if you have to cancel an item, because you have to wait for "assistance" before it will let you continue, and assistance is always somewhere else trying to tell someone that putting their handbag on the weighing scale is confusing the machine, so you have to just stand there awkwardly while it says "PLEASE WAIT FOR ASSISTANCE" every 10 seconds...
