That is one interesting solution to that problem. I love that they lifted the B-50 instead of dropping the X-1.

This made me wonder if a similar lift setup was used for loading the Grand Slam aboard the RAF Lancasters, but it looks from what I've found like the tall gear and a low platform with hydraulic lift like it was unnecessary.
