Makes me wish I could put these parents to jail the moment their child suffers.

What's the difference between being asocial and being antisocial?

From what I could look up, asocial would describe someone lacking the capabilities for social interaction.
Antisocial would describe someone who hates how society (either depending on region or in general) works - slightly an anarchist?
Edit: Tyler's SVT Focus Hates Him answered it better than I can.

Asocial is a lack of motivation to socialize, while antisocial (usually used in the context of antisocial personality disorder ) is a disregard for social norms or the feelings of others.

My dad was like this when I was growing up. The only thing that saved me from going down a dark path was the fact that I was very intelligent and self-aware for a young person. I knew what was going on with me and understood that his ignorance didn't affect me. My goal was to keep myself on the straight and narrow and do what was right for me.
I displeased him with a lot of my decisions, but now that I'm 24 and looking back, I'm glad that I made my own decisions based off of how I felt, and not what he thought.
