I manned up, and pretty much just asked this girl out. This burnout expresses my feelings, happy feelings!

Yeah, this might sound mundane, but its the first girl ive ever asked. I gave her my number with no expectation of getting hers in return, but she caught me off guard and had me write hers down. I asked her if she'd want to get food sometime, and she responded positively to that.

but i need help here!

When do i text her back? Or do i wait for her to contact me. We both have each others numbers now. Ive never gotten this far in a situation like this. I need OPPO's help!

Well, i got to that point in the convo by asking her about school, and she goes to the same community college as me. So i asked her if she had a break between classes and such, and then asked her if i could give her my # and maybe we could grab something to eat after class. After that is when she asked for mine. I wanted her to be in full control per say. I also want to make the first date kinda short (maybe), not a movie or things like that so that we dont feel like it could drag on if things spiral into a flaming wreckage across the infield.

Obviously there is no set time limit on when to text. Just do it when it feels natural and you have something to say. If she texts you first, great! I wouldn't wait more than 5 days though, a week at most. Text her with a plan too, like "want to grab drinks at local drinking establishment tonight?" If she turns it down, ball is in her court.

Well, this girl wasnt really any friend per say, she works at the store next to mine, and ive tried making chit chat, and complimenting her when she comes into my store to buy stuff. So finally, after our previous exchange, i felt like i had to go for it.

SO maybe try girls who you havent fully gotten to know yet? if that makes sense. Or just keep trying.

To be honest with you man, they didn't have texting when I started dating so I couldn't do that texting before meeting up thing (I'm not crazy old, just 33). The point is to get to know the person better though, so why not do it face to face? Say you text back and forth for a week or two and it goes well, you'll end up meeting up somewhere and talking. Why not skip the week or two and get right to the fun part? Text a little bit and if you like her, ask her out for drinks. Girls want someone who is confident, decisive (without being controlling) and funny. Being a handsome mofo doesn't hurt either! It worked for me and my wife is a catch.
