A new post or reply? Which mobile device and browser were you using? Kinja 1.2 or old school Kinja?

Which mobile device and browser do you use?

Old Kinja. Nokia Lumia 920, Windows Phone 8.0 GDR 3, factory browser (IE). Same setup as the unit in the videos I sent you earlier.
Forgot. It was a new thread / article.

Have you noticed if this is an issue in Kinja 1.2?

Are you using Kinja 1.2 or the older design?

Yes it does. I just tested. I had to tap the icon six times before it gave me the dropdown to select compose. I was able to make a new post without the cursor issues I showcased in my video - that was comforting! But I hit cancel and it published to my personal blog (I selected that in order to keep the Oppo fiascos to a minimum)

I also noticed that, even running in Kinja 1.2, the editor defaults to the previous version. I'm unsure on how to force the new editor.

The old design. Since before I got publishing permission I have never been able to hit cancel. It always posts.
