Personally, I'm still not sold on the looks of the Ferrari LaFerrari but I thought that some of you might like to see it with the beautiful town of Monaco as a backdrop.
Follow !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! link for more photos.
If given the choice, I would definitely choose the car is replaces.

Kinda reminds me of the Pagain Huayra from that angle
![]() 03/05/2014 at 14:43 |

I'm with you, it just doesn't get me the way the 918 or the P1 (especially that P1 in white omfg) does. I think it looks awkward in some photos like the first and third here. No debating Monaco is it's natural habitat!
![]() 03/05/2014 at 14:50 |

I always disliked the front, but I hadn't seen the 3/4 angle until just now. Looks good, love the swept greenhouse.

Exactly what I came write. My order of wishlist is as;
1. 918
2. P1
3. 458
4. C63
5. AMG 6X6 :p
![]() 03/05/2014 at 14:54 |

The P1 is quite a machine. I'm looking forward to seeing one at Pebble Beach this year.
Amethyst Black is still my favorite color for it.
![]() 03/05/2014 at 15:02 |
|
I will take the P1 over all the things.
![]() 03/05/2014 at 15:04 |

I really had to fight myself between the two but the 918 emerged victorious in the end. Part of me still cries at the decision.
![]() 03/05/2014 at 15:05 |

So none of the old super cars like Enzo, Carrera GT, or Ford GT?
![]() 03/05/2014 at 15:07 |
|
This wishlist is for the new items. Enzo, F40, B Rally Lancias and others.. it is just you know..
![]() 03/05/2014 at 15:12 |

Yeah I understand.
![]() 03/05/2014 at 15:18 |

Yick, I'm sorry but especially that first picture... it really shows the terrible aesthetics of the car. I'm all for function over form, but damn.
Also, I would WAY rather have the car it replaces as well.
![]() 03/05/2014 at 16:08 |

Crikey, it's a rare Italian thoroughbred in it's natural habitat - a tax haven!
![]() 03/07/2014 at 19:08 |

The 12C and the new version of it with the P1 face don't do it for me.
But the real deal P1 is just so perfect. Every time I see the pics or videos I like it more and more. I would pick it over all the other new cars as well. Which is pretty crazy because Italian cars are almost always my favorite when money is no object.
The P1 is just so batshit crazy. All that power and RWD. And it seemed so damn fun to drive when the Monkey tested it on track.
![]() 03/07/2014 at 19:11 |

And some aspects of the 458's rear section remind me of the Zonda.
Do you think Ferrari has been emulating Pagani or did Pagani take inspiration from prior cars? Because I've seen design aspects in Pagani's cars that I had not personally noticed in prior cars.
![]() 03/07/2014 at 19:16 |

I'm just more impressed overall with the engineering and attention to detail McLaren puts in their cars, and I love the interior layout.
![]() 03/07/2014 at 19:43 |
|
The engineering is top notch. And the attention to detail is so awesome, especially in the interior shots.
It looks perfect and seems like it's a hoot to drive.
When it comes to the $300K cars I'd rather have a 458. But when it comes to the hyper cars I would take the P1.
![]() 03/08/2014 at 19:24 |

I want to say a mixture of both honestly.
![]() 03/08/2014 at 19:57 |

Probably true.
Man I need to get off the Ferrari forums and classifieds. It's not healthy how far in advance I plan car purchases. The soonest I can realistically have a chance of getting a used F car or Gallardo is next year, but I spend all my free time obsessing over it.
What would you prefer - a 6MT F430 or an E Gear LP550-2?
I know the LP550-2 also came with a gated shifter but it's damn near impossible to find at the price point and color I want. I've seen some brand new ones in white but I don't want to spend $200K and white isn't my first choice.
I can find F430s with gated shifters in the colors I like all day long. Not the case with the RWD second gen Gallardo. There are some Balboni's at decent pride points with the stick but I don't care for the stripe.
![]() 03/08/2014 at 20:29 |
|
Honestly My choice would be the Gallardo only because they are a little nicer quality form the ones ive seen in person and the and F430 to me just looks like your everyday drivers car and they seem finicky. Like watch Doug D's vides on his 360. Honestly myself I am 2-3 more years of college and maybe another 4-5 before I could even consider one of those as a choice to own....but on the other hand I have some classic muscle and a 2011 GT Mustang at my disposal...so its not all bad.
![]() 03/08/2014 at 21:50 |
|
I totally agree. That's why I'm so torn.
I have some German muscle right now so I'm good for now (E90 M3). But I just want an Italian so bad.
My old man has an F430 F1. The build quality is better than the 360 but not as nice as the Gallardo.
I recently went to the Lambo dealer and looked at the 2nd gen Gallardos up close. They are in a different league than the F430 as far as build quality goes.
Most people say that the 458's build quality is improved but still not as good as the second gen Gallardo
![]() 03/08/2014 at 22:04 |

It sounds like your making up your own mind. Go Gallardo. If need be I'll help you look. I'm on spring break and I'll be driving my Gran Torino or looking at cars I can only hope to own.
![]() 03/09/2014 at 18:29 |
|
The Gallardo is the safer choice. There is just something so damn enticing about that prancing horse...
Thanks for the offer for help. Where do you live? I'm in so cal. I'm not quite ready to make it happen yet. I just paid down some debt and now need to save up some cash to make an Italian car happen.
![]() 03/09/2014 at 18:59 |
|
I'm in the Saint Louis MO area lol but there is a local Lamborghini dealer here in STL.
I hear you. I just got a speeding ticket the other day x.x so I'm like why why did it happen on the first day of spring break!
![]() 03/13/2014 at 01:43 |
|
Sorry I had this open on my phone and the browser died. just now remembered to circle back.
So I test drove a first gen Gallardo with the gated shifter the other night for the hell of it. The luxury/exotic used car dealer by my work had one listed.
It was awesome but not as exciting to me as the F430. For some reason the F430 just really gets me wound up. I can't exactly put my finger on why. A 6MT car would be freaking awesome. I would also need to test drive a 2nd gen Gallardo to get a better comparison. The first gen car came out a year before the F430 and the second gen is supposed to be much improved.
Oh man speeding tickets are the worst! Not only do you have to pay money but you have to drive all paranoid for at least the next 18 months until you're eligible for traffic school again
![]() 03/13/2014 at 02:01 |
|
Man I wish I could get the chance to actually test drive a lambo and a F430. cause the closest thing I can compare maybe is my 2011 Mustang GT that maybe barely scratch the handling capabilities of either car.
Ya the ticket is no fun especially if its your first time being pulled over. I just wanna go take the test at the DMV and get my insurance rate lowered
![]() 03/13/2014 at 02:31 |
|
Don't stress too much about the ticket. It happens to all of us. The first time is bound to happen sooner than later. When I turned 16 I got 2 speeding tickets within 6 months, haha. I had to go to the "problem driver program" to avoid issues.
The 2011 Mustang GT is an awesome car. Don't worry about not having the handling of an F430 or Gallardo. You have a big portion of the fun at a fraction of the cost. Most public roads aren't that twisty so you can't use even 3/10th's of the handling capabilities of an exotic. I want an exotic more for the sounds and smells and looks than handling because I know I can only use the handling every once in a while on track or when I drive an hour away to some good roads.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 02:40 |
|
Ya my dad wasn't even mad at me really...lol and I also want an exotic for the sound of it. The V10 of the Gallardo is amazing. Along with the interior design. As for smell I can say much never had the chance to get inside of any itilian exotic. A Godzilla R35 yes but itilian no.
There are some interesting places here in the STL and Springfield MO areas where handeling comes in handy. I also have an ace really of a 1973 Gran Torino Sport q code car.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 04:06 |
|
That's good he wasn't mad at you. My dad was livid when I got the first ticket. Then insanely pissed when I got the second!
Oh man the smell of the Italian leather is the best. The fake suede that's used in the track versions to save weight is nice and more durable. But the real leather is so damn plush.
That's awesome that you have some good driving spots and a classic car too!
![]() 03/13/2014 at 12:24 |
|
Ya the classic is amazing. And don't they use alcantera in the BOSS 302 and SHELBY GT500?
Hey if you get either wanna trade cars for a day? Lol take my '73 Torino for a spin?
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:58 |
|
Haha if I was closer we could trade cars for a day!
I haven't checked to see if they use alcantera in the boss and shelby but it's very possible. It's become the standard for performance versions of cool cars. My guess is that it's not only lighter but tougher because it's synthetic. It probably can take direct sunlight better than leather and scratch less.
Tons of leather is awesome but high maintenance. It's hard to put a lot of miles on a car with tons of leather covered surfaces and not see the wear.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 18:52 |
|
Ya I know they use it in the steering wheels of the cars and the Recaro seats.
Those exotics are just amazing on what they can do really. just wish I had some way of getting behind the wheel of one.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 19:26 |
|
you should save up for an exotic track day
i haven't done it yet but want to
i was talking to a guy on oppo who did one. he drove the 458, AWD Gallardo and F430 Scuderia
the 458 was his fav. the Gallardo was a close second because he said it was so insanely easy to drive fast on track
he didn't like the Scud much because he said it was so difficult to drive
![]() 03/13/2014 at 19:42 |
|
Ya i wish I could really but I have no job and in school full time.
and I have another year before some places will even let me. (turning 20 this year)
you could also go the way of DeMuro and get a 360 but get a challenge one.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 19:47 |
|
you'll get there eventually. when i was 20 my shitbox bmw e21 died on me. at least you have a working mustang gt!
lol a 360 CS would be cool. but they are so expensive that they aren't worth it. crazy how much they've gone up in the last few years
![]() 03/13/2014 at 20:44 |
|
Ya maybe look for a normal 360 they are staying the same it seems or an R8?
Ya I hear ya, though I wont have full reigns over the GT till my dad finds a new DD. though I do have a V6 that I have worked up something nice.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 21:05 |
|
my favorite right now is the F430 with the stick. i know it's not as rare as a CS or Scud. but it would be so damn sweet!
![]() 03/13/2014 at 21:41 |
|
Oh ya I hear you.
There is a F430 for sale in Springfield MO in Black.
want the link?
![]() 03/13/2014 at 22:16 |
|
Thanks but I'm not ready to buy yet. And I really want red. I know it's cliche. But I just really love Ferrari's sports cars in red!
I'm hoping to be able to pull the trigger within 6 months. If not I'll just have to save for longer and do it at the end of the year or next year.
It all depends on how work goes the next 6 months. My income fluctuates based on company profits ...
![]() 03/13/2014 at 22:26 |
|
Damn that sound like it could be hassle at times.
I'm hoping to get into programming for video games or something when I'm though with school. Also 6 months is a good period to look for that Right one ya know? Also if you go for Gallardo what color? Yellow? Orange?
![]() 03/13/2014 at 23:22 |
|
It is a hassle but it's also cool. When I have a huge month it's exciting!
Programming is a great thing to get into. There is such a huge shortage of IT people right now!
If I went Gallardo my favorite would be this specific blue that's so rare that I don't even know what the paint code is. It might have been a special order. It's not metallic. But my other colors I like are yellow, red, white and gunmetal grey
![]() 03/13/2014 at 23:30 |
|
Go grey if you can that looks amazing! And I know what blue your talking about that sucker is hard to find.
Ya Computers have always interested me and video games are one way to give back to a community I am a part of and have been sense i was like 11/12 years old. XBL for 7 years! WOO! And Ya Programmers are in demand
![]() 03/14/2014 at 01:42 |
|
Cool you know the blue I'm talking about. It's so rare!
IT has so many options too. If you get sick of gaming you could do web development. There is a shortage of good Java developers. If you get good at Java for big corporate app development you'll make bank.
A good Java architect makes at least $200K a year.
![]() 03/14/2014 at 13:36 |
|
I know! its nuts.
Java guys get alot of praise and such cause of the coding. I am working with python right now and know visual basic. though VB wont help for much. but hey gotta start some where!
The company my father works for their programmers that come to them right out of college make $62k starting!
![]() 03/14/2014 at 16:25 |
|
Python is cool. The only problem is that it's not used much in large companies unless they are pure Internet companies. We looked into it at my company but the lack of solid documentation and programmers who know it made it a risky thing to pick. But if you're someone like Google you can use whatever you want because you can build your own documentation and training programs.
Knowing VB is good. The syntax is similar to other MS languages. It will probably be easier to learn C# once you know VB.
That sounds about right for programmers right out of college. We're paying about the same even if the person has zero experience working at companies over summers.

Ya I have been offered an internship at Microsoft when I'm eligible for it. Parents went to HS with someone who is pretty high up and they offered me it or HIGHLY encouraged me to apply as soon as I can and able.
![]() 03/14/2014 at 17:12 |

you should take it!
i know a guy whose son got his first job at MS. he's still there. he got big raises often. and lots of perks
![]() 03/14/2014 at 17:15 |

Ya I am hoping to go work on the Xbox team or a game studio or something.
![]() 03/14/2014 at 17:35 |

that would be cool!
![]() 03/14/2014 at 17:38 |

Ya Just have to hope! Always looking for that one cheap exotic I can buy with some good money saved up from my first job. looking at maybe a Maserati or GT-R or maybe a Cheap Lambo.
![]() 03/14/2014 at 17:46 |

go GTR or R because AWD
that could come in handy if you work at MS HQ
![]() 03/14/2014 at 17:47 |

meant R8, not R
kinja won't let me edit...

XD Ya that does sound awesome
