... that my parents' first car was an Austin America. And their second was a Chevrolet Citation. At least they had no regrets sending both to the junkyard, although they had to be towed rather than driven there.

My dad's first car was a AMC Pacer. His dad (my grandpa) had to drive down to college about every weekend to fix it, it was so uinreliable.
After that, they went through a succession of crappy Chevrolet Cavaliers, but when they had me, they switched to a succession of Saturns, having learned their lesson.

The Austin America wasn't actually that bad of a car. Not stunning, but certainly not a Citation.
I think one converted to RWD with a Rover V8 could be a good deal of fun :)

ha those Citations were truly crap.
My pop's first car was a 65 Valiant Barracuda handed down from my grandpa, and my moms was a 71 Cougar xr7 vert in blue that was her company car.
(not my mom, or even close, ever)
