What do you guys think was Ted's crying about?

I read rumors about about how it's foreshadowing the death of the mother but to me it only made sense that Ted's mother or the Mother's mother is going to die.

I don't like sad.

man I hope Ted's wife doesn't die. I can't handle that, all these years of him being lonely and miserable only to circle back around to where he started with an extra helping of broken heart. Boooooooooooo. Really wish I hadn't read that. I was thinking of episode spoilers not series finale spoilers when I clicked.

Well it was kind of episode spoilers (Ted crying) and then just speculation for me and what I've read from other people speculating too. It was kind of weird from them to drop a sad bomb this late into the season.

It makes sense, a lot of sense. She's terminal and they are visiting the place it all started, hopefully it's something else though. there was the mention of "what mother misses their kid's wedding" or something like that, but that could be Ted's wife missing their kids weddings because she is dying. :(

Giant fan of the show but season 5 started the drop to the piles of crap that were season 7 and 8 and from the two episodes of this season I've seen it looks like a pretty poor attempt at recovering from them.

Some one else said she was terminal. I must have missed that episode. What a dark ass show. The whole show was happy and then ends super super dark. I kind of enjoy it now.

Damn. That does make sense....could explain the entire premise of the show too. It gives good reason for him to be telling the kids how he met their mother.

No I agree. Either reds mom is dead or his wife is going to die. Seems to make more sense she does. Otherwise why would he be telling his kids solo how he met their mother.
