It's finally my 21st birthday, and I'm pretty stoked about that! But on a more vehicular related note, if my credit application goes through, I get my new truck today. I'm more excited by that though, simply because I was going to get it Friday however someone came in and bought the one I was looking at. So they had to bring in another one from Louisiana over the weekend.
Today is just looking up to be the best!
Disclaimer: The picture is not mine it's one of Addictive Desert Designs trucks, but it's what my new one will look like when I'm done modifying it.
Edit: just realized I put up the picture of one of their raptors. Sadly I won't be getting a raptor but I will be slowly turning mine into a desert runner. Hopefully within a few years

So you're getting a Raptor?
Congratulations!

Happy B-day/congrats on the Raptor!

Well not a raptor but it will end up looking a little better than one it just may take a year or 2

Happy birthday!
Screw the raptor man. You'll definitely be able build a better truck.
inb4 "The Raptor's suspension was made for its geometry"
That headache bar is a little wack though, the design is sweet but that tire mount is ridiculous.
EDIT: Put up pictures! haha

Yeah I'm getting mine without the tire mount. And I was looking at the brenthel kits, I just can't wrap my head around labor costs.

Cool! Does the top have a cutout for a light bar?
Labor costs kill me. I try to do everything myself, but I had to get my mid-travel installed at a shop, luckily I knew the tech that did all the work so they gave me a discount.

Yeah the rack has a cut out for a light the problem is that just the rack without the tire carrier is like $1800 with the carrier it's like $2300

Big money, that's like a high-end camper shell for a truck. The price difference between with and without the carrier is nuts too.
If you do pony up the cash for it, throw a Rigid up there, for sure.

Here is the new, well new to me any way, truck, got it this morning at 11 it has 60k miles but feels brand new. It also has a custom katskinz Rawlings leather interior.

Also here is a bad shot of the interior

Just got it today it is used and has about 60k miles on it. Sadly it's not a raptor but I like it more than a raptor. It has a custom Katskinz Rawlings leather interior that is as soft as a baseball glove.

Boy, that sure is nice! Interesting sounding interior, must be really comfy! Can't wait to see your build when it starts.

Just got to this pic, disregard my comment, haha. Very nice truck, not abused at all.

Maybe one day it will look like the brenthel truck lol

It'll take time, but I'm sure you'll get er done. What's the first mod?

Probably a leveling kit for right now

I don't know much about F-150s, but is there a cheap lift kit to avoid the puck and block?
I know that Billies for Tacos are on the cheaper side ~$300.

The rancho quick lift spring and strut combo are like 210 for each side. But that replaces the whole strut tower
![]() 03/06/2014 at 10:40 |

That ain't cheap. I guess it depends what lift you want after it's all said and done. I wheeled with my stock suspension until this year and went all out. If you go with the spacer, be weary of the strain it puts on your components.
![]() 03/06/2014 at 13:27 |

Plus spacers ride rough. These rancho kits are the complete strut with the coilover spring attached

As self-centered as it sounds, I'm glad I went the way I did with my truck, waited until I knew what I wanted. In the long run you won't use as much money if you wait for the nice setup you want.
Do you think you'll do a full long travel setup/glass?
![]() 03/06/2014 at 17:50 |

Not until it becomes a secondary vehicle.

Good plan!
I like talking to the off-road guys and gals on Oppo cause I know none of them is silly enough to install a drop-bracket lift. haha
