To be honest, in terms of angles, its looking pretty great.
The only one that worries me is this one
My general rule of thumb is that if the body is below the centerline of the wheel, its meant for street duty. You're saying..."well, duh, of course it is!" and you are right. All things considered though, it looks like they've definitely tried and I can't wait to try one of these out.
We obviously have to take this with a grain of salt and reserve judgement until they actually...you know...make it but so far, I'm diggin it.
Bring on the Jeep haters!

The only thing I don't like about it, and I mean the ONLY thing, are the wheel wells. I'm okay with square wells, after all they look good on the Silverado IMO, but the wheels look too big for them, and too small for the car. It's hard to even describe that, but something feels off when it comes to the wheels. It's like someone tried to fit a round peg into a square hole and failed even though the peg actually fits in the hole.

I'm a GM guy, but this thing is looking so damn appealing. Maybe it will get GM to bring out the Granite.

The only thing I see being an issue is if you want to go with bigger tyres. It looks like anything bigger and you'll have to worry about rubbing.

The wheel wells look awful small for anything but light overlanding or groomed trail riding (i.e. gravel roads). I have the feeling that there's not much room in there for serious rubber.

What about the wheel articulation? Actually come to think of it, it has some jeep heritage so I should not doubt their ability.

Offtopic: I have a friend interested in coming to the Moab meetup. He has a 2006 Taco, mostly stock. This is still going to be a thing, right?

Concept wheels always look a lot bigger because design thinks everything needs to have big wheels... Not sure how they'd actually look.

I like it quite a bit. The proportions looks spot on. The tail lights seem a little "meh" though. The fact that it'll be offered with a 6-speed manual is very intriguing also.
I am, however, interested in knowing the specifics on the 4WD system and suspension.

I don't think this is a concept...

DERP... Edit.

Square wheel wells are a Jeep hallmark... It's part of the Jeep design language, and probably not going away anytime soon. I do agree that the wheel-to-arch proportion in this image looks a little off, though... Maybe it's due to the photo post-processing they did to make the wheel well shadows black.
Looking back through the generations of Jeeps, the wheels/tires have always looked a little small. Dodge made this mistake on the Durango as well... When you have large caricature-like wheel wells, the wheels/tires look diminutive w.r.t. the large wheel wells in which they reside.

Like I said, it's not the shape of the wells that bother me it's the fitment of the wheels. All the ones you posted look fine, but the wells on the new one don't look wide enough.

True, I should've said 'rendering.'

I see what you mean. Probably because they were most likely added in post-processing the image and might not be scaled appropriately.

No, I think this is an honest to goodness production car.

Are those subaru crosstrek wheels?

I sure hope so! I want it to happen.

No, I think they are smaller versions of the Rubicon wheels.
Although, I really couldn't tell you if Jeep had this style available before Subaru did.

Yeah, without some form of a lift or modification to the lower body panels, I think you're going to be limited in terms of what'll fit under there.
At least that plastic cladding crap should be removable. Hopefully the aftermarket will step in and provide a solution, plus the mopar catalog has always offered some good stuff. Hopefully that will continue with this little scamp.
But it's good to know that this kind of thing is theoretically possible. Nothing beats the determined enthusiast.

Anyone with Photoshop skills to lift this thing and put on some offroad tires?
THEN, I might be convinced.

Ill give it a go later today when I've got a minute, of course if its anything like the Cherokee, a lift might be out anyway, so its moot.

You've got a point. Still, it would be cool to see what it looks like.
