How to Properly Take Notes

In my film literature class, my teacher makes sure we don't fall asleep while a movie is playing by making us take notes on it.

You can't take notes on a movie's characters without writing down what they drive, right?!

The movie in question is Alfred Hitchcock's !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
