Pretty sure you have to be a mod/admin. Us authors can follow people on oppo so they can comment out of the grey.

What does work quite well is if you see someone who doesn't have it, and you see they have something worthwhile to add to Oppo, start a new thread and ask to give them authorship and why. Worked well for me today!
