I just got back from a second interview at a local racing team for a traveling IT tech position.
I don't want to name the team, but it's a pretty big one. The job is literally perfect for me, all my professional work is in the IT industry and I've done well. I'd get to travel to race tracks and set up all IT equipment and troubleshoot it throughout the time we'd be there. I really hope to get it, and if I do, you guys can expect some behind the scenes coverage hopefully somewhat like Dusty and JBH do.
Until then, I will continue to poop my pants.

Oh man, that sounds amazing. I keep telling my wife if I ever am forced to leave my current gig I want to do something like this... more fun, more variation from day to day, and in a field I enjoy (racing/cars).

Believe it or not it was on a job listing website. I saw it come up and applied straight away and called them back right after.

Just IT as far as professional work goes. Automotive work is a huge hobby though. Most of my experience is in insurance IT, just by chance really.

For sure, it was actually one of the big ones like indeed/careerbuilder that the listing was on. There were actually 2 listings in the automotive field, 1 for this job, 1 for a local drag team. Still surprised to find them both!
