Tonight the internals of my hard-body '02 touring will be painted. Next week it will go to a professional painter to have the complete outside done.

Kinja'd!!!

Next sunday I hope to finish the removal of all parts of the 'body-gone-bad'.

For the tii-conversion I seem to have all parts complete, I've even found a Kügelfischer-pump for a reasonable price. As for the pistons: I'll have to measure the cylinders to see if they fit.

Just one part seems impossible to get: The dust-caps for the front disc-brakes. It's possible to mount Turbo ones when it gets to the size but those won't be cheap...

Purdy. I do love '02 Tourings.

What's the plan for the final car? Are you going with turbo flares or keeping the stock narrowbody? What wheels and what colour?

The final car will be stock narrowbody, I'm not planning to make it look too much different, want to keep it authentic.

Not sure if I'll lower it a bit, has been on my mind. I now have the alpina 13" 20-spoke on but I've sourced Campagnolo 13" in Hungary and they are shipped as we speak:

They're magnesium and don't even do 5 kgs each!

Colour will be Inka Orange.

The lower one is the look I'm aiming for, it's also the 'facelift'-nose. Not sure if I'll be able to resource the Alpina spoiler though. Rally-lights are high on the wish-list but I'll probably end up with only 2 instead of 4.

I'm more determined to make it technically a proper performing tii.

Cool :) gorgeous cars whatever you do with them, and Inka Orange is one of the all-time great colours

I've been looking at a set of magnesium wheels for my Spitfire. Not sure though. I've already got a set of Cosmic MkIVs, which I love the look of. Can't touch the Dunlops for weight though.

Those Dunlops are only 4 kgs and they're 6J, ideal for more power! I'd go for that if you're able to refurbish them yourself.

I also love the clean look of the MkIV-steelies (with the black center-cap) but they're probably not wide enough to master the power you're going to get, are they?

I would be refurbing them myself, and they're definitely tempting. I wonder if they're still for sale, as it looks like it's a relatively old website.

The steelies on a GT6 are 5J rather than 4.5 with the same style, so I could go for them. I think the widest tyres I can fit without rubbing are 175s on the front and 185s on the rear. So long as they'll fit that I'll be happy :)

I'm keeping the steelies that came with the car so I can mount winter tyres :) should be great fun
