Been looking for employment for a while now. Currently making less than half of what I'm used to; cards getting declined and such. Thankfully bills are still being paid but I do so dearly miss being able to buy things like food and booze and car parts.
On a whim, I tossed my resume out for a job I feel I'm qualified for. Right up my alley, actually. Got a call back an hour later for an interview! Woo, right? DAMN RIGHT WOO MOTHERFUCKER, WOO. I went back and read the posting a little more to ready myself and noticed they posted a salary range. I had missed that before. It's four times what I am currently making. Z/28 money. S-Class money. And they want to interview me.

Cautionary tale. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. If they offer you the job on the spot, be sure you've fully thought it through and asked the right questions. I've made that bad decision one too many times only to regret it six months later, back looking for a job.

Yeah that's what landed me in my current spot. Juicy carrot dangled in front of my face. Promises broken. Work 100% out of my scope. Poor, poor pay. No benefits, time off of any sort. It is pure shit gel and I need out.

I'm leaving my Sys Admin job (moving from Colorado back to Atlanta for my wife's career). I hope the job market is good there.

Not sure where you live, but they are looking for a replacement. Its by far the best place I've ever worked, small Software Company, jeans everyday, nice profit sharing bonuses twice a year. I really hate to leave it, but my wife is the breadwinner so we have to go where shes needed.

Job is in Fort Collins. If you're interested in driving that far let me know and I'll give you an email address to send your resume to.
Forgot to mention they also match your 401k 4%, and your 100% vested from day 1.

Damn, that sounds pretty good. I'll bite, it never hurts to try right? What kind of sysadmin position is it?

Small company around 70 employees total. 40 in the Fort Collins home office. Right now its me and 1 other Sys Admin. We are responsible for maintaining 20 or so physical servers onsite. Another 15 or so virtual servers. Virtual environment is for the test and development teams to use for testing our software, and also a demo environment for sales. Responsible for everyones production machines too (everything is Dell servers/laptops/desktops). Since its a small company we are the helpdesk, desktop support, network admins, server admins, pretty much everything. There is a support dept for our software that answers all customer problems/requests (we only support internal employees). Sounds like a lot, but its not overwhelming. We get to go at our own pace for the most part, and roll out things with time to research and plan them well. Its been a great environment for me to learn in. We have hired a few employees from Denver recently, and there's a possibility of opening a small office in Denver in the future. Job hasn't been posted on our website yet, but should be up in a couple days. Go ahead and send your resume to careers@newcenturysoftware.com to apply.
