True story - my youth pastor from HS won a contest to go to "Bass on the Beach" with Victor Wooten, and he told him that he had nothing to teach him.

He's a good friend with someone I work with, and I got to see him backstage when he did a concert here with Bela Fleck. Super nice person. My guitar teacher saw the same show, and proceeded to spend the next few days trying to reproduce what Victor was doing - he could barely move his hands/arms after he was done, but he managed to get close to some of the sounds that guy can make. Amazing.
I know a few people who have done his music and nature camps (vixcamps?) and loved it.

I'd love to meet the man. He is the reason I started playing and I've worked for years to emulate his skill. Unfortunately (highly aggravated) carpal tunnel syndrome keeps me pretty well nowhere near that level but hey someday I'll afford the surgery and start playing again

I was at a house party with him once and someone handed him a fiddle. He proceeded to crank out a flawless version of Orange Blossom Special.. he'd only been playing for a year or something.
Easy to feel small next to that. Also easy to feel gifted. (I went with the latter and didn't mind the former.)

I saw his brother, Regi playing a Kramer guitar on one of his videos. Since I had a Kramer guitar at the time (and was a member of the Hungarian Kramer Klub) I asked him about it on YT and much of my surprise he got back to me in private, and later on we exchanged e-mails about it, he even took close-up photos of it and explained all about the groovy modifications.
