Simple as that. I got the idea from my friend who work at a coachbuilder company as a bus designer, and he said he can build a car for me as long as i got my own design and chassis and drivetrain and money.

I think i'll want something rather realistic, i want a W140 chassis with a front mounted Mercedes V12 but in a some sort of grand tourer coach-built body like that Maserati, altough i'll want my own design. It should be badass.

I would build a new version of the CLK GTR. Pagani Huayra Chassis, 7.3L AMG V12 tuned to the max, and styled after the W204 C63 AMG. Like that:

I want something like a modern Nomad. Two door wagon with two tone paint. Still seats 4 with decent room in the back. Powered by a turbo-diesel V6 and a 6 speed manual. I'd like AWD so it would be somewhat practical. I tried to attach a pic of an old Nomad, but Kinja won't let me today...

An AWD grand touring coupe, mid-sized with 6-cylinder power, with a rear fastback hatch, true 3-diff proactive full time and torque-vectoring AWD, and a rally car stance with subtle, clean fender flares.

A road-superiority fighter to handle any road and any season.

light weight sports cars are nice... but are only really good at one thing. Big practical vehicles are nice, but 8 times out of 10 you are hauling around bulk, 2-tons of weight, and aero drag that isn't required for just a driver and maybe one passenger, but it is hard to have a 2WD car that is truly superior when the weather and road conditions change... so you can't just toss all the tech out the window, either, it has to be a balancing act.

An AWD coupe with a properly useable rear hatch, about the size and relative price range of the Mustang and Genesis coupes would be just right.

I'm thinking I'd want a 4 seat roadster. On a F body frame from Schwartz Performance.

No roof, just a windsheild, a roll bar and miles of trunk and hood.

I want a Convertible hard-top 4dr suicide door fastback with a front mounted V16 or perhaps one of those audi V12 diesels, that'd be unique too :D mated to a 7 speed manual.

Ooh, that Maserati A8GCS concept would be a great one to do.

Personally, I'd get the chassis from a Maserati GranTurismo, get them to shorten it and install a manual 6-speed. Then I'd insert the V6TT from the new Ghibli and make a modern Alfa 6C/GTV6.

A Volvo 240 wagon, with a 6 speed and a B6304F with twin turbos, and all wheel drive. Last car I ever need. Not lifted but it would be fun...

Well, for the price tough..
I ask him on the price, and he said you'll need 20k USD to re-body an Accord, if you don't mind the body made out of galvanized aluminum.

If you want something exotic like carbon, it can be as high as 100k.

from the big trucks I am sure they did. Not ever going to be very quick due to revs, but it would last a long time

One-offs are never cheap, everything has to be custom made and finished.

I just wish one of the companies that could build something like that right out of their current engineering inventory, would do so...

because that is a car I would save up for and buy.

LFA V10 in my IS300 with the authentic TRD Neo kit (like L-Tuned but a few inches shorter) matted to a V161. That's about it. Honestly.

I want too many different things to distil it down to just one model... I'd rather have a garage full of custom cars.

Though I'd probably start with a shooting brake that was obviously based on a sports car design, maybe starting with a Ferrari 575 look. It'd also be RWD with a manual and some cool doors. Not sure on the engine yet... Maybe a Terminator 4.6 or a LS7.

Anything long nosed and short rear just like a S30. I really liked Lars Mårtensson concept as a 240z, but modern types such as the Z4 or the Berlinetta you posted would do just fine. I'd put that type of technical chassis with an inline-6.

Hi guys, i've been reading oppo for years but have never made an account. Basically i'm a 17 year old from England who is trying but has yet to take his test. I love pretty much all cars from before 1975 (although thanks to you guys i do now want a miata when the insurance goes down) and my car, which will also be a daily driver, is a 1970 Volvo Amazon. It is my pride and joy to put it blunt.

Enough with the introduction to oppo, if i had to build my own car it would probably be a volvo p1800es with a full carbon fibre body (Mclaren P1 style), the drivetrain ripped off, and if money is no object a nissan GTR engine and drivetrain replacing it. Then on the interior i would probably have a wooden dash and chrome lovechild for a dash, a full leather interior and various modern comforts like air conditioning and radio.

More realistically and what i actually hope to do at some stage: Datsun 260z and engine swap for the best engine i can find for a decent price. All a while off though with insurance aspects and general cost though....

Dream racecar: An Exige Body, Evo X Engine, with a reworked STI drivetrain coupled with the Evo Tech (yaw control etc.). All that on a tubular chassis with dual coilover suspension. Basically a modern RS200

Dream Roadcar: Mini JCW GPII Cooper body and interior with different seats, Ford Focus RS500 Engine, with R34 GTR drivetrain and chassis controls.

Two-seat sports car.

I want it to be a coupe, preferably with a removable targa top. I want it to have twin gas turbines in a front-mid-mounted position turning two generators for the electric motors at each wheel. And it would have neo-retro styling from the late 80s/early 90s with a dash of brightwork to accentuate certain features such as wheel arches, vents, and the belt-line. And it must have dished turbine wheels.

Well, in my country, any single car is street legal as long as it has lights and indicators and registration.

So that's why coachbuilding is rather cheap in here, because you don't have to pass safety regulations. And the car is very well-made, good enough to be driven everyday.
