Karting was fun, but potholes were not.

Thanks to doodon2whls's superior jacking skills, it made life much easier to do the wheel swap. Its also the first time that donut was ever used. And here is a top tip: CHECK YOUR SPARE TIRE PRESSURE. The employees over at the karting place were awesome enough to fill it up for me, so im grateful for that.

Kinja'd!!!

This was the front wheel at the time of impact. Swapped good back wheel forward, and the donut on the rear. Changed around the wheels today so now ive got on 2 different wheel pairs due to a nail in the other set -__-

I had another scare though. My odometer and trip counter stopped turning for the entire ride back. I fiddled around with it today and i got it to work again. Impact was hard enough to jolt something out of synch. So now there are a 100 miles missing...

Anyways! On the way down i spotted this:

Kinja'd!!!

An evora and s2000 rolled up and cruised by. The evora sounded glorious!

Glad you made it back safely dude!

BTW I found the pics from the November meet by searching for "hawk's nest" in oppo. Looks like a great time!

So how's that 'lude working out for you? A good friend has it at the top of his used car buying list, especially in white like yours.

I'm only aware of the last gen 'ludes by reputation, the last one I drove was a 1986 :D

Honestly its a great car. Approaching two years this summer and its been straight up reliable, lots of fun, and very practical for a small coupe. But the thing i will say is not to get into buying a prelude uneducated about them and their quirks. (quirks arent bad tho)

There are two kinds of white. 1997-98(might be just 98) models were a flat white. And the 99-01 models could come in a pearl white. Thats the better one IMO.

If he is serious about it, tell him to email me (my username @ gmail) and i can kind of give him a heads up for what to expect and look for and attempt to answer any questions he has, if he wants.

I was bummed I couldnt make it (even though I knew that pretty much the whole time...). Did any of you guys get into the 32 kart elimination thingy at the end?

My friend knows his Hondas well, actually, and yea, its the Pearl White one he's after. He found one on a local listing that otherwise fit the bill, but it had a head gasket issue :/

He is serious though, as I said, it's at the top of his used car list: he's practical enough to have several cars on it, but the last of the ludes is, as I said, at the top. Thanks for your generous offer to share info, I'll get him in touch with you :D

Damn, this is happening to everybody at once. The potholes are taking out their collective anger on us!

Dare i say the prelude isnt your typical honda. There is a bit more here than just an overpriced civic. But general honda knowledge is still very useful.

Headgaskets. These cars arent really known for them, so definitely stay away unless you plan on making it a project.

Anything to help out a fellow future luder! These cars deserve good owners and considering this last generation has lower production numbers than the s2000, there arent many good examples left to be had. So its important we steer him towards a good one.

we all did actually. But we didnt make it out of our elimination rounds. There was too much disparity between the karts. So if you got a good one, you could pull a fast lap time. Otherwise, youre out of luck. Still lots of fun regardless!

I couldnt doge them all. There were too many. It was like the scene in 300 when all those guys just overwhelmed them. But the potholes overwhelmed me, and i was left in damage control mode.

And yeah, a few other oppoers got hit by some holes too right?

also, your in cali, you got no potholes there!

Couldn't doge them all?

Kinja'd!!!

But yeah, I think in the past three days, three unique oppostles fucked up their tire and/or wheel wheel going over potholes.

I mean... we have potholes but I don't often see them quite like these ones people are posting. We have our share of generally crappy roads though, like the road leading to my house. Going over them in the Miata (w/ scantily-padded racing seat) sucks...

BETTER BUY SOME SWAY BARS LOL

Did you find that supercharged FR-S/BRZ at a Cars & Coffee?

Much holes. So depth. Very pot. wow.

At this rate, i gonna be buying a truck, lifting it and putting massive monster truck tires on it cause if next winters any worse, its the only defense i can use.
