Kinja'd!!!

I'm working on a project of sorts where a handful of cars will be put through ordinary car tasks. You know, the kinds of things you do with your car without giving it a second thought. Now I need help coming up with as many of those ordinary car tasks as possible.

Kinja'd!!!

Here's what I have so far:

Stop & go city traffic

Merging onto the highway

"Rough" city roads (potholes, etc)

Speed bumps

Parking (parallel and end-on spaces)

Getting in and out

Transporting cargo (this needs extra help. What sort of cargo do you need to fit in your car regularly? What sort of large/bulky/difficult cargo do you need to fit in your car occasionally?)

Car wash

Drive through

Fueling up

(Unrelated lead image to get your attention)

Can you sit comfortably while a child in a car seat is behind you kicking his legs? Are you jerking the wheel every time he kicks you in the elbow? Does your stroller take up every inch of cargo area?
TL;DR Does it baby?
This photo is of my awesome son, by the way.

Storing and retrieving stuff from the map pockets and other small storage areas - maps, papers, cups, umbrella, garbage, etc

Transporting cargo: suitcases for family of 4 heading to Disneyland or bbq day at the beach or park (cooler, blankets, towels, etc)

Changing a flat tire

Handling change for tolls (this is what ashtrays are for, right?)

Connecting/using iPod

Going to a drive-through restaurant

Going to a drive-through ATM/bank machine

Going to a drive-through liquor store

Getting in and out of a parking garage (ticket from dispenser, paying at exit with credit card, navigating narrow ramps)

Transporting garden supplies - live plants of different sizes, bags of rock or soil, decorative items

Driving at night

-Burnouts

-Drifting

-Apexing everything

-Destroying on-ramps

-Spur of the moment runs to 140

-Trying to top your best time on that curvy section by your house

-Aggressively downshifting to make Camry drivers nervous

-Getting pulled over by the Police

-Speeding on the way to traffic court

I really need to get a new daily driver.

Well, that's an answer. I guess I missed the point of this project.

I'll be working with a handful of cars in the near future (all two seaters). Today I'm looking for ideas regarding what "daily driver tests" to subject them to

I get that now. Sounds like a totally solid idea. I'll be looking for it. I think what threw me was the photo of the crossover in the parking lot. It made me think you were doing "normal" car reviews. Obviously not as fun as fun car reviews, though.

The cup holders. those matter a lot in a car.

also how easy is the technology/infotainment center to use.

Guitar amps are a good test of cargo capacity since they're difficult to load but reasonably common enough to move

Turning Radius

Yeah, that was just me GISing a car pulling into a parking space, i.e. a car doing normal car things.

I could, in fact, do the most realistic "dead body test" ever depicted in a car review. But it would probably be "unwise"

Damn. Well cupholders are pretty important to me as a person. I love fast food, and sweet tea. Cupholders can also be good for fries, and the second one for sauce. I always make sure to clean my car since i'm a bit odd. ok well actually very ocd.
