...I've gotten over the fact that I can't get an F31 with 3 pedals. I have come to terms with the reality that if I want to get a nice performance oriented Euro wagon someday I am going to have to give up the clutch. The F31 M-Sport looks awesome. So BMW, you are forgiven....for now.

Yes I know I can get a JSW TDI with 3-pedals...that is plan C if the monies never materialize for the V60 or the F31.

I'd love a 328d M-Sport Wagon if only it was about $10k less.

I wonder if they'll let you special order one? Given that a manual box is mated to the same engines elsewhere in the world, it shouldn't necessarily be out of their way to do so.

Since the previous topic of good car dealers is still fresh, finding this out could prove to be an interesting experiment, if nothing else... :)

The answer is nope...I have contacts at BMW dealers and I already asked with the F31 reached our shores. BMW will not let you special order a F31 with 3-pedals for US sale.

That's really a shame. Everybody talks about how quick the new automatics are, but I got an F30 automatic loaner a little while back, and I found the shifts were actually pretty laggy. They happen quickly without much power interruption, but there's almost a second delay between requesting a shift and when it happens. A manual gearbox shifts more slowly, but at least the response is instant in that the clutch grabs as soon as you lift the pedal. I can't recommend it if you really enjoy a manual gearbox. It's just too annoying not quite knowing when the shift is going to happen. I guess it doesn't bother most drivers, but it's something to think about when you test drive the thing anyway.

Every vehicle seems to have some flaw. You just have to figure out if its a deal breaker or not. The most common problem for me (lardass that I am) is the center console/stack on most new vehicles is right where my knee should go. I was sad to discover that this is the case for the V60.

I actually think the 5 GT is the prettiest BMW on sale right now
Have you seen one in moonstone metallic?

Kinja'd!!!

I've seen a few on the roads, and if someone offered me a choice between a 6 series convertible and this, I'd take this (with X-Drive, of course)
And no, I'm not kidding. I really like how it looks

Good point and I've read the same criticism for the Volvo. Though I think with the BMW if it is equipped with the adaptive M suspension and steering it will sharpen the shifts in Sport mode.

Hey I'm sure you are not alone as folks are buying them...they just seem off to me. And I have seen that color up close. However the 3GT isn't too bad.

agreed, the 3GT doesn't look bad either. I will admit neither the 5GT or the 3GT have a real purpose, though :)

I build my own 328d X-Drive 3-4 times a week as if by some magic the price will drop. I absolutely love the way this thing looks, especially having seen a few out on the streets. I picture myself laughing all the way to the mountain, enjoying all the torque I've ever wanted in a wagon with the fuel economy I probably don't deserve.
