We are on the verge of 3D printing technology making this an on-demand item and bringing the price way down. In our lifetime we might all have sub-millimeter accurate 250 replicas.

Very true, the college I go to has one and I invest in a 3D printing company (because it's the future, man). If you haven't seen it already, one guy is printing his own DB4.
