This happened to my aunt, she had cruise on, bent down to pick something up and boom...driving in the median and since cruise was on she just kept right now going, caught some air then remembered to brake (good thing she was in a suburban). The lost of a few bikes off the back but it ended pretty well. She also once drove my cousin to school (about 4 miles) on the wrong side of the road...the whole way....good thing it was light traffic. I think this lady must have been screaming her brains out...and yet, the brake pedal is right there...
