when you do an oppo review of an older car, do you judge it based on the time period it was relevant in? or vs todays competition?
Also, do you judge it based on its mission and purpose, or as a car generally?
I was going to write a review and I didn't know how I wanted to frame it. Thanks, enjoy some rally porn.

I like to see it based on what I could get for similar prices. Tom (Automatch) does a good job with this. I would also mention its original purpose, but a frame of reference for practicality is nice too.
Also I like rally porn.

Based upon all other cars that you have driven with a slight consideration of the period.

Here's a review I did of my 1955 Buick. I judged it mostly on how it was at the time of manufacture, but also took into consideration how it performed on modern roads. http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/1955-buick-sup…

I generally base them on the price paid and the average price / quality of similar examples in my area.
