A wise man once said, "In order to be out on the factory floor, you need to wear appropriate steel-toe footwear."
Full disclosure: Well, I bought a pair of Chippewa Steel-Toe Boots off of a suggestion from my dad who let me try on his pair.
Exterior: 10/10
It's a classic boot design. The leather is soft and supple with a durable distressed finish. The brass eyelets stand out and make lacing up a breeze.
Interior: 10/10
The leather is soft and supple in there, too. You don't even need to wear full length socks to be comfortable.
Acceleration: 3/10
They're steel-toe boots, so they're kinda not exactly at all light. You can run in them, but it's not exactly recommended. Driving a manual E36 in them is also not recommended, but you cant do it.
I was parked when I took this
Braking: 8/10
Need to stop? They can do that!
Ride: 10/10
These are extremely comfortable and will not cause fatigue over an 8.5 shift 5 days a week. I think that the soles are made out of magic.
Handling: 3/10
What part of "work boot" needs explaining?
Gearbox: 4/10
You're not going to get much clutch feel with these on. But, you still can drive.
Toys: 10/10
There is only one, and it comes in handy when called upon.
Audio: 10/10
Want to sneak up on some foos? These are very quiet, so ax murder away!
Value: 10/10
Yes these cost me $175.00, but they're tax deductible! Also, there are cheaper boots, but they aren't made in The USA, nor are they as comfortable.
78/10
Price: $175

Those pail in comparison to the comfort and quality of these. I tried on several before buying these.

I recently bought the very similar-looking 6" Service boot in tan suede, which I don't think is steel-toed (I don't need them as work boots but solid footwear for inclement weather/walking around in the world is a must) but is otherwise very similar, and they very rapidly became some of my favorite shoes. Great quality leather, comfortable all day, and made in the USA. They had a pretty good test a few weeks ago when I had to leave my car half a mile or so from home after a snowstorm, and just look a little better broken in after pushing the car in the snow, getting hit by slush from a passing snowplow, and then hiking home. All that despite being suede...I'm a Chippewa fan for life.

I love my DocMarten's. All I wear for work. Comfy and lighter than the feel once they are on. I seem to have something else to try now however...
If I can get them in Canuckistan.

I have these, great boots! Until you get them wet, they actually absorb water in through the seam between boot and sole and then when you step down it makes foamy water come out the seam. It's kind of funny at first, but after a 12 hour shift and soaking wet socks it's frustrating. I know they aren't marked as waterproof but I was hoping for a little more in that dept.
I think I will try a pair of Work One or Justin boots next because made in USA, waterproof, and steel/composite toe are what I prefer and these 3 companies seem to be the only ones out there.

And yes, those 1461s have epoxy garage floor paint on them.

Epoxy Floor Paint, Well aren't you just fancy???
I would have to get the garage cleared out first. And then figure out how to paint. then actually get off my ass and do it.
Sounds Too Hard...
