I think he survived longer cause he appeared to be riding Campagnolo. But maybe the car had a permit?

That video is really weird haha

I'm both a Jalop, as you know, and a cyclist. I don't live in the most bike friendly city in the world so it definitely gets scary sometimes riding my bike. I've had situations where drivers tail me and think that I'm in their way but that isn't the case.

Because I love biking and driving so much I make sure to give drivers more than enough room to pass me when I'm riding. And when I'm driving I make sure to respect cyclists by waiting until the opposing lane is clear so I can pass them safely.

I've been hit by a car while biking so I know first hand what it feels like. I was t-boned by a lady driving about 30 mph who just simply wasn't paying attention. It happened almost a year ago and I'm still in the process of recovery. My bike was destroyed and I ended up buying a new one. I've ridden it maybe eight times and I'm considering selling it because, frankly, I'm scared of people in cars not bring attentive to what they're doing behind the wheel.

I really wish Jalops and bikers could see both sides of their arguments and get along better on the roads. It would make for a much safer road for everybody.

yup, i was a bike courier for a year and hit 3 times, I still ride a lot (though not on the road...back issues) and I think its crazy to have this animosity. On the whole:

Cars people - cyclists are just trying to do their thing, they aren't trying to convert you to pedal power because you are killing the planet or something.

Cyclist - cars are big and dangerous, their drivers aren't actively trying to kill you but its not hard to get hurt by a mistake, take extra caution. Also, they aren't out to ruin the planet for kicks.

non jalops in cars- too lazy to power themselves, too stupid to hire a driver.

I picked up this beautiful steed from a guy who had a similar experience. He was hit by a car while riding a different bike, then kinda gave up on riding. So this nice Bianchi sat unridden for nearly two decades before he decided to sell it. Just needed a good cleaning and new innertubes.

That's a great looking bike and I completely understand his situation. I used to ride every day. Riding and driving were the only ways I could spend time alone and unwind after a long day, but after being hit, everything changed.

Physically I can't ride my bike the way used to because my left hand is so fucked up from the accident and my ankles are screwed up as well. The very few times I've ridden since being hit, I imagine seeing things in my peripheral vision that aren't actually there. My first time out riding after my accident I almost got hit again, which pretty much scared me away from riding all together.

My new bike is an awesome fixed gear/single speed on a flip flop hub and is extremely fun to ride, but I can't seem to overcome the nerves of riding.

If you need another bike, I'll sell it to you for a very reasonable price! haha
