Last night on the show they bought a Escort and pimped it out, and got to take it to the Ford Heritage Center (Centre?) when completed. In the background, was a white RS200 covered in plastic.
After tweeting my lust for it, whoever runs the @Wheeler_Dealers account replied back, stating that you can buy a rolling shell for around 2k pounds.
That's..... not bad. I can imagine the rest of the car does NOT come cheap, but that's a heck of a start to a rebuild, and would make for a good show if they ever has the cash and time to take on a project like that.
I've been trying to think of such a street legal unicorn rally or race car here in the US that you could buy that cheap, can't think of one.

The kit I saw was front engined. Nevertheless, get that and a small Ford engine from the current lineup, and it's RallyAmerica time!

It is my dream to build a replica some day. Welding a tube chassis will be tough but doable.

Ow man. That's surprising!
The thing is, i love the RS200. But you know, it can do some a little bit extra power. Now all i have to do is put a 20B in it, tune it, put a gullwing in it, ut some body and call it a Mazda AZ-747!

I watched that episode last night, too. They should've kept it in brown.
