Today we had a rather odd weather phenomenon. Mud raining from the sky! Literally! After school I stepped outside to see that all the cars in the lot (including mine) looked like this lovely Porsche, which I blatantly stole off the intertubes. And it's not just cars. Everything that was outside now looks like this. The furniture on my balcony, the attic windows, you name it.
Seems like we got hit by sahara sand from sand storms that got into high altitudes, and then rained down on south-eastern Germany. Well, at least I now have a good excuse to wash my car this Friday afternoon! It's an activity which I find quite relaxing after a stressful work-week.

That's very un-German like! How odd.

North African sand ended up on Germany? That's very, very strange.

That happens here in Austin from time to time, but usually not that bad. Storms will come through the Panhandle, picking up large portions of Lubbock into the air. Then it will rain just enough to deposit Lubbock on all of our cars, but not long enough to wash it off.

Does that happen in DFW too? I'm new to the area. I can see my wife's face now..

Can't say for sure, never lived there. But I wouldn't be surprised if it does.

You see those islands in the second pic? I live in one of those haha. We have this phenomenom a lot, and the "mud" rain is not the worst part. What i hate is that before it rains, there is sand or dust in the air, making it difficult even to breathe sometimes. It sucks.

Where I live, it happens in the summer monsoon season. Windy days send a lot of dust into the higher elevations and when a monsoon rain forms, it rains brown.
