Thanks for ruining it for me...

I see a designer attempting the impossible and failing: he's ordered to make the Cherokee more "modern" and "aggressive" but is told under no circumstances is he to mess with the 7-bar Jeep grill. This is what happens when you try to merge a design from the 1940's with one from the 21st century.

It looks less polarizing in person. Interior is pretty nice too.

I have no doubt the interior is nice. Chrysler has seen good improvement in that area. And I have seen one in person, it still looks like Bane to me.

I see the slight resemblance too. Gaping maws are the new design language of the 2000s for some reason.

Oh, you think dirt roads are your ally... but you merely adopted the dirt. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see the asphalt until I was already a man; by then, it was nothing to me but sliding! The slaloms betray you, because they belong to me. I will show you where I have made my road, while preparing to bring dustiness. Then, I will race you.

I disagree that the 7 slot grill is the main problem, they managed to incorporate it just fine on the Grand Cherokee. I think it probably has more to do with the platform itself being front wheel drive biased and the inherent proportions.

I have seen a few on the road, not a bad looking car. It comes with some package with a flat grey/stone paint color and red tow hooks with a bit beefier wheels that I really like.
