Why does everyone gloat on the 500-series and not the 400-series?
As I recall the power was about the same in the V8s, and the 400-series weighed less?

A 5.5L?!?! I thought the 5.0 was the largest in the W126....well that explains a lot then.

So, slight update. I actually called the guy and found out a bit more about the car.
It's a 1987 and has a few issues. The sunroof is jammed, so that whole bit about letting God's air in is kaput. The ABS is also dead but "the brakes work fine." I'm willing to bet that this guy has thighs the size of a linebacker's. It also needs new shocks. And it needs freon. R-22. I have no idea where to buy that.
He said he's had it recently inspected, so he's going to send me the results of that. He estimated that another $6k would bring it full circle, mechanically.
The reason he's selling it?
He just bought a Tesla and doesn't have room.
