Back in that era, I'm sure most were glass. Plastics were not very sophisticated then.

True. One day I was in an E-Type and I'm pretty sure they were glass. Freaked me out because they wouldn't be cheap to replace. And the glass wasn't safety so I was paranoid I was getting a face full if we hit a bird. Or a rock. Or really dense air.
