Hey guys, I wrote this list of why it can really blow to be a car person sometimes. I wrote it on my blog a while back and it seemed to resonate well with a lot of people.

If someone offered me a dream garage, and I had to live in it. OHHHHHHHH MYYY GODDDD*faints* I would love to do this. I would just ask for a Bugatti then sell that, and use that bay to live in while I use the money for a bed, fridge, food, all other racer car and insurance needs. Then I would Live my days off in car heaven.

aaand the car leaking oil is a beetle..Huzzah. The cops pulled me over and tried to tell me that the underside of my 60 Bug was too oily. I pointed out that the only reason an air-cooled VW won't be leaking, is that it has run out of oil.

If I stay a bachelor for a long time and come into some money after I pay off student loans I wouldn't mind buying a warehouse and using it as a garage while living in a portion of it. Sure it may not be the most convenient thing but a raised garden box on the roof with some grass for my dog to use and I'd be set. I'd gladly live in a place that smelled like used motor oil and gallons of Brakleen (after a while Brakleen starts to smell like perfume. . .). Also I'd gladly do that as long as I had a redundant security system with cameras monitoring all possible entries and exits just because assholes like to break into warehouses.

Maybe a flat screen or projector, a ps3, a computer tower, and that's about it. I really hope the garage includes tools. If not, a lot of my budget will go towards that.

It could be beneficial to wall off like an eight or a corner of it and make it into a bedroom on top so you can see your cars from your bed, and a kitchen/living room underneath. Or even cooler, a hanging platform with a catwalk as a living room in the center of the ware house.

Let me tell you how fun it is looking for a house with my fiancée. Found this amazing place with a heated barn on the property was all set to buy it but apparently having a house with a crumbling foundation is a bad thing. So yeah, she wants a house and I just want a garage that can fit 4 or more cars. Our two DD's my Land Rover and yet to be bought classic car project (Jag E-type). I'd gladly build a bedroom above a warehouse if I could.

Our compromise is that we buy a house with enough room for me to build my garage. I'm a lucky guy.

Yeah I'll figure it out when I get rich enough to have this dream. I kind of just really want to be able to be naked with my cars though. . . hahahahahaha. I doubt I'd want anything hanging over the cars, but I wouldn't be opposed to the bedroom on the second floor and all that. I do have a dream and one day it will be a reality complete with a couple of lifts and a fancy set of tools and basically everything needed to be a full functioning shop, but I'd kind of be like Jay Leno and restrict access to douches and only let people I know really well borrow the lifts. I really need an empty warehouse now.

I think we're in the same boat. I'm looking for a plot of land that I can build my mega-garage on. I want at the very least a building that holds 10 cars and a few lifts. The house is my wife's issue. :)

For a while you could get those silos for under $1 mil. . . I wanted one so badly. Reconditioning a silo doesn't sound like too bad of a place to live if you ask me. . .
