My grandpa is in the hospital because he broke his hip area early morning. Hope he recovers quickly, for he makes me smile everyday.

Sorry to hear that. Hope he gets well soon. My grandpa had a similar experience he is fine and he has been fine and dandy ever since he has healed though.

No, unfortunately. He doesn't drive anymore as he is weak.
My parents, grandparents and sisters are not petrolheads, only me. I remember from one of our conversations that he used to own an Opel Rekord.

My grandmother broke her hips 7 times. The last 4 times it was because she was overly proudly independent and would go out to shovel snow by herself and fall. Toughest lady I ever met.

Here's to a full and speedy recovery. My grandpa was able to fully recover from a broken hip when he was 89, so its certainly possible. He too was weak when it happened, but he wasn't any worse for wear afterwards.
