The Suzuki SX4 is absolutely badass in the snow

So with this latest snowstorm this past week in the northeast, I woke up to about 5 or 6 inches of fresh snow on the ground. Rather than let the plows and salt spreaders turn all of this fun into slushy muck, I got up early to go have some fun in my 2013 SX4.

On fresh snow, these cars are absolutely awesome. I am on the OEM Bridgestone Turanza all seasons with a lot of tread left, so it was no problem. I'm confident that as long as you're not on bald all seasons, these little cars will handle light to medium snowfall with no problem at all.

I only wish I had a camera man to capture some of the parking lot fun. I got some in-car video with my dashcam but it's not as good as some exterior video would have been.

I love that the wheels are completely packed with snow.

There's something really attractive about the design of the SX-4 that I haven't been able to put my finger on. The best I can figure is that it's like a 4/5 scale Mercedes ML, but then the ML was never that great in the looks department. Glad to see it can do the job, too and that the AWD isn't just a gimmicky thing.

I've always had a soft spot for the SX4

Yeah they seem good, there are many Suzuki in Kawaguchiko, obviously there are many Suzuki models sold here than in other places. We just got a meter of snow.

I absolutely loved driving my partner's SX4 in the snow. It was fantastic. Unfortunately, I didn't much care for it any other time. I hated the 4-speed automatic in regular weather, it shifted like crap.

Now he has a Juke, and it's the opposite. It's fun to drive in good weather, but I don't think the Juke's AWD is as good as the SX4's.

That's why I bought my 2010 new in 2010, 6 speed manual, awd, so fun in the snow.
Don't regret anything about my sx4

I feel like just about anything that's smallish and AWD is going to be a hoot and a half in the snow. Doubly so for a M/T.

I do like those SX4's though. They're very nicely styled to my eyes for what they are.

I think Suzuki actually just had really good styling for a while. I love the way the Swift looks (sad we never got it in the states) and the Kizashi was actually quite pretty IMHO.

I would love to see how well these SX4's do in a meter of snow. I know that Suzukis are usually the best selling cars in Japan, because they make so many kei-cars.

I don't think this car is going anywhere with the snow we have. I can't even take a Land Cruiser out of the yard unless I dig and the plow makes a pass. There are lots and lots of little Suzuki 4x4s of all eras. There are a few of the Willy's Mitsubishi jeeps too.

Is yours a manual or cvt,
I am no longer the only oppo with a sx4, if you are looking for any info, the sx4 club has everything you need, http://clubsx4.com/forum/forum.ph…

Only thing I did so far to mine was big tires, 215/65-16 general grabber AT/2, I want to install the lift kit soon.
Welcome to the sx4 club!

Mine is actually the CVT, I considered the manual but due to other people needing to occaisionally drive my car, and with my brutal 40 miles of stop and go commute, I decided to go with the CVT. it's not a bad transmission at all as far as I'm concerned.

I'm on clubsx4.com as well, in fact I posted something similar to this a few days ago.

I've driven my brother's 2013 SX4 Premium (with CVT as well) in the snow and thing was absolute blast! Was running circles around a couple of Subaru's in a huge empty lot. The car was so much fun... Makes me jealous of my brother and his SX4. (His is in the same silver but doesn't have the foglights. My Mazda6 Sport Wagon feels inadequate in comparison here in Maine. Also wish I got some photos and video of the thing sliding about.
