Alright, so this isn't really car related at all. So let's start off with a car picture to pique your interest.

So... back to my main point. My sister is a mother of 3 who is currently working on here master's degree in public health. She was able to be in a program back in November to go to Ghana and do some public service. This was checking kids for diseases and administering shots.

Well she has been incredibly lucky and managed to land a spot with the WHO (World Health Organization) for a 3-month internship this summer. As most of you know, internships are basically slave labor and don't pay you anything. Since this is the chance of a lifetime, she is taking it anyways and will deal with the costs. Now... this is in Geneva, where it is quite expensive to live. Because of this she is requesting donations from people to help with the costs. Again, she is going anyways, but would rather not have additional loan payments. So... if anyone would like to donate anything, it is greatly appreciated, otherwise please just spread the word.

I will only post about this once a week to spread the word until the period is finished so as not to spam Oppo. I would post this on Jezebel...but I think we all know why I won't venture there...

Please go here and check it out:

She needs $8000 to live for 3months? Seems a bit high to me.

Yeah it may seem high until you start looking at everything.

Airfare to Geneva

Renting a place in Geneva

Food (sounds silly, but Europe isn't exactly cheap when it comes to food, like in the USA)

Transportation

And then you have to remember that now they have to pay for additional childcare services they normally wouldn't. Her husband works full-time, so now they would have to hire a nanny for 3 months to watch the children. She has been doing her Masters online so she hasn't needed any childcare services.

Personally, I understand people not wanting to donate for something like this, but they have been having to watch their budget tightly (children are not cheap) and they both still have loan payments from their undergrad. This is just the best step for her to start a career she is very passionate about and to help her reach her goals.

Good luck to your sister in law.

Not sister-in-law, she is my direct sister haha.

I am sure she knows Banku and will see about her making me some ;)

And yeah, I know people who have lived/worked in Nigeria and Ghana is basically paradise comparatively. She did love the people there.

Oh. I am illiterate apparently.

Banku is actually quite hard to make, you have to pound corn with a huge pestle. When I was in Ghana President George W Bush came to visit, and he took a turn smashing some corn. Great picture haha.

I've been all over Nigeria also...Ghana is a lot safer...especially these days. There was no boko-haram when I went to Nigeria (thank god). Good luck to your sister!
