A couple of years ago on V Day, my longtime girlfriend and I went to a local family-owned restaurant for dinner. Nothing special, we were wearing jeans and the place is nothing fancy buy has good food.
A drunk guy at the bar was going over to a jukebox and feeding bills into it and playing music. We heard, in order, Guns & Roses 'Paradise City', Pearl Jam 'Yellow Ledbetter', Bing Crosby 'White Christmas', and AC/DC 'Back in Black'. As soon as good ol' Bing started crooning we completely lost it...bartender's yelling at him "You gotta quit playing that stuff! These people are here for a nice dinner!"
While 'White Christmas' is still playing a couple of high-school age sweethearts come in, him in a tux and her in an evening dress....to the restaurant where we're drinking beer and wearing jeans and sweatshirts. I kinda felt bad for them...the expression on his face was "I shoulda thought a little harder about this..."

Marvin is a legend but Otis Redding is the legend we deserved but never fully flowered.
RIP Otis. Try a Little Tenderness and Sittin On the Dock of the Bay are excellent songs.
You know he never got to hear the Sitting On the Dock of the Bay. He died a few days after he did the vocals. The instruments weren't even close to finished while he recorded
