The second week of the semester is coming to a close, and I'm already dying for summer. I need a break from all the work, all the people, and the stress. Just some time to take the sports car out at night, whip around the backroads with the windows down and the flat six screaming in the background. I'm sick of the heavy winter SUV, the necessity for heavy coats and boots, and scraping my car off every day.
It's a sad realization that 'summer nights' won't exist for much longer. No more blowoff summer jobs and staying out late; the real world is calling. I'm fucking petrified.

Enjoy your youth while you can. I was stupid enough to go to medical school, and while I enjoy my job, I don't like being 29, single, and at the mercy of a 80 hour week/work schedule. Life is never as easy as you thought it would be. That being said, I've enjoyed the hell out of these 29 years.

I'm beginning to realize how quickly it's slipping away from me. Looking at summer internships already feels like selling my soul away. I just hope I'm smart (read:dumb) enough to make the memories with my buddies that will last until I'm being spoon fed apple sauce. Life goes too quickly.

the flip side is that once you become an adult, the toys get alot more exciting. and fast.

I'm already quite lucky with that. My dad drives a 997 S, my mom just picked up the E63 AMG S model wagon. I drive around in a 535xi wagon, which is what I would call quick. The AMG is just plain 'ol stupid fast.
