Kinja'd!!!

Drove to school today because I didn't feel like dealing with the subway, and since most teachers who drove didn't actually come to school today, I parked in their spot in front of the school (aka the sidewalk in NYC). It was a mucho fun ride with ESP off, and my car loves the snow, even with low quality all-seasons.

Most of my hoonage today was done on this corner where you can safely make sure no one or nothing is in your way.

More pics of my car because I can

I LOVE the Nurburgring sticker. People who know what the sticker is would be just as confused as the people who have no idea what it is.

YOU HAVE AN ML? Buddy! I know that it's a 320, either or 98 or 99 (mines a 99), how many miles do you have? I like the side steps! I'm so glad that someone else here has an ML haha. Is it your daily?

That's my favorite part about it. I think it looks somewhat good there too. And I have driven the Nurburgring so that makes me as qualified as anyone in the United States (unless they shipped their car to germany, drove the 'ring, shipped it back to the states) to have that sticker on my car :P

98 320 with 217k still rolling strong. Its actually my Dad's daily, but he's snowbirding, so I rotate it into my fleet. My mom drives the '06 ML500, but I like the 320 better.

Nice! I'm almost at 213k. Does your car have ESP? My car was built in DEC 98 but has ESP and I believe was sold as a 99. How does she like the W164?

What is snow birding?

Not planning on it! :P The only time someone came up to me and recognized it was in a a parking lot in New Jersey, a construction worker came up to me and was like "Dude is that the Nurburgring?" it made me happy, and we exchanged high fives.

They like the 500. Super fast and elegant and a nice ride, but I think they both prefer the 320. Just seems to drive nicer and feel more solid. Just can't put my finger on exactly why I like it better. Mine does have ESP, which is crap, because it kills the engine right when you try to power out of a slide, so I turn it off too.

Thats interesting. The main difference is that the W164 is more car-like, but the W163 is a body on frame, legit truck sort of thing. I haven't driven a W164 but I don't really like the looks of either of the later gens of MLs. Hmmm... when was yours built? I was pretty sure that the 98s didn't come with ESP. And Yeah I agree with you there, ESP is a little over-protective in the snow, so I turn it off as well. In normal conditions however it is pretty useful.

It could be a '99. I'd have to pull out the registration. I always thought it was 98. I think of the w164 like a puffed up sl500.

Oh, and snowbirding is when old people go south for the winter.

I used to frequent benzworld more often, but I haven't been on in a while. Back when I had the 240D and then the 300D I was more active, but not I've since sold them. I have a w108 sitting in the garage, but its waiting till spring to get tuned up and the cobs knocked off.

One of these days you need to upload a video of your car so I can hear what the 270 sounds like.

Haha. They probably would be useful as you can see snow spit on the bumper where the mud flaps would've been.
