So as some of you might of seen, I'm getting a well made Chinese copy of a Pinarello. However I'm not the kind of person that tries to pass off fake things as real so I'm not having Pinarello branded on it. So in order to fill in that space I want to put the name of a character from mythology that is associated with speed or if the name just sounds cool.

Icarus - Greek mythology
Flew too close to the sun and melted his wings.

Hermes would fit with his winged sandals. He was the messenger of the gods
Nike also fits, but I doubt you want a Nike branded bike either.

Maybe Zoran, Norse god of speed and fast machines?

Persephone (per-se-fu-nee). Apparently she eats pomegranates. Pomegranates = Grenades. Grenades = Cool. Therefore, Cool = Persephone.

Persephone's story is one of my favorites. It's been a while, but as I recall Hades took her as his wife down to the underworld, and she only gets to come up once a year, which is springtime. Something like that

Something like that. I was also thinking about the episode of The Simpsons where Homer's half brother is looking for a car name, someone suggests it and they mention she ate a pomegranate, and Herb just loses it.

My thoughts went straight to the messenger as well.

After much deliberation... (Hippomenes or Pheidippides? really?) I have come to my suggestions: Throughout Greek mythology there are references to the Hippoi Athanatoi, the immortal horses of the gods, renowned for their unparalleled speed. There are lots... here are a few of their names:
Phlogeus, Phobos, Konabos, and Aithon - the fire-breathing steeds of Ares
Pegasos - The winged immortal horse born from the neck of the Medusa.
Areion - An immortal horse owned by Hercules
Balios and Xanthos - the pair of immortal horses driven by Achilles in the Trojan War
Boreas, Zephryos, Notos, and Euros - The Anemoi - The four wind gods, who, in the shape of horses, drew the chariot of Zeus

Mercury.

She was tricked into eating the pomegranate, which because it came from the underworld it meant she had to spend a third of the year down there (hence winter)

Sleipnir, Odin's 8-legged horse. It's the fastest horse there is, faster than the wind.

Pegasus - A winged horse-god.

But my real question, where does one get a well made Chinese copy of a Pinarello?
