Depreciation, she's a magical beast. Some times I get awestruck by it's power... then I wonder how these people feel about losing all those dolla dolla bills yo.

They can't feel too bad. At some point they determined the "new car" experience was worth the depreciation. Hopefully it was really worth it to them and they were able to turn around and happily sell their vehicle for whatever it's currently worth to do so again.

It's because Escalades just don't age well at all. Cadillac has this magical power that when they release a new Escalade the previous generation looks 10 years older than it's supposed to. Seriously now I see old Escalades that I loved seeing when I was younger and reel in disgust.

I saw a newish S65 recently, maybe on Oppo, that had depreciated $2 for every mile on the clock.

One of the old guys that I worked with bought a brand new motor home for near a million dollars. By the time he sold it he took it out maybe four or five times and sold it around $200k...
