I could go into length about this album, including the best tracks, the lyrics, the beats, and why it will forever be a classic, but i think that Kanye West's College Dropout speaks for itself...

Greatest? nope
and I used to be a huge fan of Kanye

Is it wrong that I like Yeezus and Twisted Fantasy more than College Dropout? I mean, they're all 9/10 star albums in my mind, but if I have to dice them up into rankings, it's a hard sell against the last two.
Or, in other words, am I wrong for liking Yeezus at all?

It's my second favorite KW album. MBDTF is the best in my opinion. Still, College Dropout is a great album. My favorite song on that album is probably Spaceship or School Spirit.

"we're all self-conscious, I'm just the first to admit it!"
That's pure classic.

I preferred Late Registration and Graduation over this one.
And yes, I too used be a fan of Kanye.

I guess I will never know how good or bad of an album it is because I will not take any time out of my sad and pathetic life to listen to it

Because racecar.

Yeezus is my least favorite, but keep in mind that's not saying much. It's a good album, but his ego sorta ruins that album for me. I'd rather just pick a few songs from the album. Primarily Black Skinhead, Send It Up, and Blood On The Leaves

It sucks that he's become such a giant blowhard, so full of himself.
His attitude nowadays has made me sick of him. I refuse to listen to his shit anymore

BROKE PHI BROKE
"WE AIN'T GOT IT"

I feel like "I am a God" was horribly misinterpreted.
I mean, think about it. He claims he's a god, and then follows it up with superficial demands and screaming and running . It's not about saying "I'm a god" it's about telling yourself you're a god because you're afraid.
...except that's apparently now how he intended it, from the interviews I've seen. Still, if you look at it from that perspective, I think the album's ego doesn't stand out so bad and it sort of becomes self-parody.
But Black Skinhead is amazing. I was in Chicago when he did his promotion for the album by broadcasting videos on building walls, I really thought this album was going to be the next big thing. Critical response was just 'meh' though.

Ohhhh, didn't even know about the video. I like it even more now.

It's lifted from his short film about the album:

How many cars do we own? (None!)
How many cars do we own? (None, sir!)
Should we let our woman go and be with the cat in the car?
Yes, we will.
Why? Because we can't afford gas. Say it with me!
(We can't afford no gas!)
Say it!
(We can't afford no gas!)
So we ain't drivin'!

My Big Dark Twisted Fantasy is easily his best album. Simply a paradigm shift.

Twisted fantasy is my favorite too! And according to iTunes i have listened to Yeezus over 100 times lol

As far as rap albums from the 2000s go, there werent many better ones than College Droupout.

YES. people call me crazy when i say twisted fantasy is his best album, and i cant understand why

Ah, I remember seeing some of these scenes.

Out of the 12 songs, I'd have to say 8 of them are monster hits. There are only two okay songs: Lost In The World and So Appalled. Find another album with so many great songs. And Blame Game is hilarious; Chris Rock FTW.

Nope. Have to strongly disagree with you on that. I'll leave it at that. Well. . . just one more nope for good measure.

What!!! Lost in the world is amazing. Thats such a great song, its my 2nd favorite.

Honestly people hate his newer albums but hes one of the few artist who actually evolves and tries new shit. Every album has been very different from the last, while other artists try to recreate their first popular album or just make shit that people will listen to (started from the bottom, I aint worried bout nothing). Listen to my beautiful dark twisted fantasy, hes actually honest and admits his huge flaws in it. And frankly a ton of famous people become egotistical, because everybody is on their dick, but many just put on an act in public, but at least hes honest

one of the first lines is "I am a god, my whole life in the hand of god" and I think people forget he was one of the first rappers to be religous and abhor violence. Nobody seems to realize about that line or remembers jesus walks. BTW MBDTF is the best for me but I love all of them. One many havent heard is his good friday mixtape but if you havent heard it you should listen to it. Its pretty good, especially songs like Dont look down which could easily have been on MBDTF

The great thing about life is that we don't all like the same things. To each their own. That song just didn't really click with me.

Ok, but can we all agree that instead of Jay-Z and Kanye West, the Watch the Trhone album should really be Kanye West feat. Jay-Z

Saw this today. Scroll down and theres a video about the College Dropout. here

You're probably right, but seniority and the fact that Beyonce was featured is most likely the reason it's that way.

Shit, I love his old and new stuff (well not digging yeezus, at least not yet,) but his behavior isn't anything new. Its just more noticeable since he's more famous now I think

I'm gonna let you finish, but...
No, actually, I was looking for a good suggestion of something to listen to. But then I saw "Kanye West." And I became sad.
