Went out shopping earlier today. Found this. He may be sticking out a little bit. Yes, the Cadillac behind him is also over the line. This is the worst parking lot in my area. It was nearly impossible to get our Honda Pilot between him and a big F350 that was sticking out a bit. Dammit Florida!

Old people lack depth perception. Yeah edith, that's close enough, get your walker ready.

My Grandma drove for about 5 years after she couldn't read the guide on the TV any longer...... When we finally made her stop she could barely see at all. We had to have the doctor tell her she couldn't drive any longer, it was really hard on her but she should have quit years ago.

I assume it's ultra-scary in Florida, because that's where all the New Englanders go to retire. Therefore, there's a shitload of old people living down there. My parents are thinking about going down there to retire. Scary stuff.

Lifelong Florida resident here. It can range from frustrating to terrifying. Also, my out-of-state friends are simultaneously amazed and horrified by my driving style. No one understands that the reason I wait for the car with its turn signal on to actually start turning before I pull in front of it is that that turn signal may have been on since the Carter administration, and apparently there's such thing as a "Miami Left".

Is Florida as bad as it's portrayed on the internet? Or is it all (very frequent) isolated incidents?

I think it's a little of both. It's easy to embellish for the sake of a joke, but a lot of people live here, a huge portion of them are transplants - either American retirees or foreign immigrants/refugees (demographics renowned for their responsible, safe, and courteous driving style, here in our state with no safety inspection preventing them from putting their $400 death-trap on the road), and it's always warm enough for the crazies to do their crazy business outside, where we can all see it.

The only time I was in Florida, it seemed like a very condensed place, so that makes a lot of sense to me.

Condensed? Miami, at least, is famous for it's sprawl.
