Where would I go if I needed a stencil made of something? I'm thinking kinkos? Maybe? No idea. Or even how to make a really accurate stencil. Either way.

For what use? Street art? Photoshop is the way to go. Print out your image to cardstock or something and then cut it out with an exacto knife. Here's a really bad MP4/4 I painted. The design was sketched onto the card stock and then I cut it out. Pro Tip: Don't forget to leave bridges (the bits that hold stencil parts together) in your design. I forgot to include one on the front wing. Stencil graffiti is really big right now so it isn't hard to go google stencils.

I took this design, modified and enlarged it into a poster sized stencil. I have yet to find a proper (non-illegal *wink*) place to paint it.

Edit: Here are a few more.

Also, go ask Powderhound. These are his stencils.

A sign company maybe, like one that has a vinyl cutting machine for letters and designs. I don't know for sure. Good Luck.

Try FastSigns . They did some semi-custom/reproduction decals for my motorcycle. Easy to work with. I'm sure if you tell them what you want they can help figure it out.

I have a cnc plotter, router that can run straight off a pdf. But exacto a shoebox lid if you want practice.

Folks are on the right track with a sign company to get the stencil cut. How to make a stencil: I'm fairly certain you'll need a vector graphic from an app like Adobe Illustrator (or a free alternative) for their plotter to read. If you only can make a black and white raster graphic in Photoshop (or MS Paint or via a scanned drawing or whatever), look up "convert to vector" on fiverr and get it converted for $5.

p.s. I love that we all still call it Kinko's even though the name changed to FedEx Office many years ago.
