Just went for an hour long drive, with no destination, and for no reason. It's Saturday night, but I don't drink often (but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis) and I hadn't made any plans otherwise. After becoming bored of working out, I decided to go for a drive ('12 Wrangler 6 speed) to clear my mind and kill some time. It reminded me of why we love driving so very much.

It's the sound of the engine, as it screams up to the redline; the sight of the open road swiftly flowing just beneath your feet; the feeling of each imperfection in that road rattling through your body, those slight touches from our hands and feet that somehow precisely control and maintain steady forward motion; the taste and smell of fresh winter air bursting in through the windows...

Yet still, there is a sixth sense that driving tickles that few other experiences can match. Perhaps it is the combined stimulation of each of the traditional senses of perception... an unnatural yet spiritual connection between man and machine in harmony puts you in a state of bliss, freeing the mind of the daily troubles that typically envelope it.

Opponauts, it doesn't matter if you drive a Veyron or a Prius. Just drive .

I love driving. Every minute of it. People who question why people spend so much money on modding/buying cars that aren't practical don't understand. Driving a car you can always enjoy/mod so it's exactly how you want it is the most satisfying feeling ever. Drive on!

This is great. People always question me as to why I'll randomly jump in my Bug or Outback and just disappear for an hour or so. I get shit like "gas is too expensive for that!" but I don't care.

Driving is just so damn relaxing for me. Always has been, always will be.

It's been pretty good. I wanted 4wd and manual with enough space for work stuff, and this was the only thing that fit that criteria in my price range. It handles rough pavement, snow covered pavement, and no pavement like a champ. I've taken it through nearly 3 feet of water without issue. Taking the doors and tops off is easy and good fun. It's got enough power a relatively nice interior post-2011. However, even after 25k miles I still haven't found a comfortable seat position, the sound system is pretty bad, I'm averaging 13-14 mpg and I had issues with the power steering.

Thanks. Yikes, do you do a lot of city driving? My friend has a 6MT wrangler sport completely stock and he averages 19

I have the Unlimited (4 Door) and yes, I live in NYC so I'm almost always doing "city" driving.
