Both manual?

The 575M. People love Astons too much and it pisses me off. :P

...daaaammmmmm
I'd want both

6mt 575m, because lighter. I also could never get over that weird squared-off line on the rear fender of the vanquish, so to me the 575 is prettier.

I will always pick Aston Martin when.

I'll take the Ferrari …. but I'm about to find out what Mr. Clarkson thinks.

You're right, I'd much rather be considered a Ferrari fan...

Meh. I'm not a Ferrari fan (and like 95% of them don't have Ferraris anyway), far from it, I just don't get the unconditional love for Astons. There's maybe one I'd consider buying even if I were crazy rich, and that's the old Virage-based Vantage.

I am a Aston fan. It's a purely emotional thing. The styling speaks to me in a way few cars do, and all post 2000 Astons do it. They all look roughly the same, but they all look good. The proportions are just right. They aren't race cars, and they don't pretend to be. The noise they make, the way they drive down the road. I just want to take one on a road trip (V12 Vantage manual and v8 hood, please) and find every tunnel I can just to blast through it with the windows down. It's a street car. They aren't perfect. They are overpriced. They are too heavy. They need to update the styling and drive train. But who cares when they look and sound like they do?

They look nice, but that's about it when it comes to Astons for me (OK, the V8 Vantage also sounds cool). And even when it comes to looks it seems like they've designed a good looking car many a year ago and just kept making it, giving it new names while afraid to change the styling. They're supposed to be classy, but after so many years some things just start to look cheap and dated, especially around the interior.
Also, that Vanquish is probably the ugliest of the modern-ish Astons.
I get that you can like Astons without being able to provite a proper rationale behind it, but I just don't. And since I'm a professional arse (and apparently a hipster) the fact that everybody seems to love Astons just annoys me and makes me biased against them.

Vanquish... ugliest... sir I'm going to have to ask that you keep such comments to yourself as they offend me greatly.

That's fine. I feel the same way about Maseratis and Jaguars, except the XF-R, I just don't see the prettiness they're supposed to have.
The only thing about the V12 Vantage I hate is the hood. But the NOISE!

Vanquish over the 575, but 550 over the Vanquish

why?

The Aston. A large part of the point of a GT car is to arrive in style.

I like the 550 a lot more than the 575. I think it's the headlights and lower grille that bug me on the 575. I'm not sure, but I just don't care for the 575.

Now a Vanquish S with a manual might have changed my mind.
