Awesome video goodness of a pair of F-14s making some terrific low level passes before executing a strafing pass with its 20 mm !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! 6-barreled Gatling gun. Filmed in 1993 at Ft. Chaffee in Arkansas.

Sadly, the new "does it all" F-35 doesn't have a gun. Seems they've forgotten the lessons learned in Vietnam with the F-4.

VERY NICE.
I got to do something similar around the same time, only with A-10's doing some plinking rather than F-14's.
Thanks for sharing this.

Really? According to a document linked from the F-35 Wiki article (" F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Media Kit Statistics ." JSF.mil August 2004), the F-35A has a 25mm cannon, while the F-35B/C has a 25mm cannon "missionized in a stealth pod." Sounds similar to the afterthought gun pod on the F-4.

Ack! Should have researched before jumping in here... Yep, I was thinking of the B and C models - you're right, the A does have a fixed cannon. I'm curious to know how much the gun pod affects RCS on the Navy and USMC variants now.

:53 and 1:27, I got a little erect. That's a hell of a noise. Awesome.
