Vice President Biden says there are many reasons to run for president, but "one overwhelming reason" not to — the ability to drive a car.
Especially a fast one.
In a speech Wednesday to the United Auto Workers, Biden said he would especially love to drive the new Corvette Z06; he rattled off its acceleration time and other performance statistics for his car-making audience.
"Not that I like speed," the vice president deadpanned.
The proud owner of a vintage 1967 Corvette, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! about the new model: "I'd like to get that Z06 with 0-60 in 3.4 seconds. 3.4 seconds! ... You tack that sucker up to six grand and this comes out of the hole like a bullet, man."
The vice president has not said whether will, in fact, seek the presidency in two years.
Biden also praised the work of the UAW for its work, including efforts by political opponents to weaken unions.
"These guys on the right — they know without you there — they call every shot," Biden. "You guys are the only guys keeping the barbarians at the gate."
