You know the one. During a normal scan of listings you find one of the cars on "your list" and it's in an acceptable color combination. You open the ad and see it has acceptable miles and has been well maintained. It's well priced and you start to get excited. You start scrolling through the pictures while trying to figure out if you could pull enough money out of your ass/thin air to afford it when suddenly... you see an interior shot of an automatic transmission selector.

Worst feeling ever. Transmission type should be a required field that is listed in the title.

What car was it?

The first one was an early series 240Z, the second was a twin turbo 300ZX, and the straw that broke the camels back for me this morning was a 1993 RX-7 R1 package.

About that 300ZX, what year what is, and what kind of HP did the twin turbo make?

Yeah, it only works sometimes. Depends on region it would seem. I love it when everything shows up as configurable.

That was during the gentleman's agreement so they all said 300HP. It could be anywhere from 300HP to 330HP depending on what the boost was set to or more if they changed anything out.

I know that feel. Took me months to find my IS300 5-speed.

It's about time. They're owned by eBay, amazed it took them this long.

So many high-fives for your taste in cars. Finding a TTd Z32 is gonna be a bitch and a half by my guess. 93 was a fine year for the RX-7 (which is on the very short "Non Nissan cars I'd happily own" list). I imagine a lot of the 240Zs are probably rust buckets by now.

Anyway, good luck with your search!

Thanks. I am always hunting for 240Zs, and so far I have spend a small fortune saving one from rust bucket status while also turning it into a nice daily driver/weekend racer. I want another to restore more original-ish. I would like to still do a brake upgrade and springs/shocks on the next one and a Rebello stroker engine, but keep the feel of the vintage car.

The FD will be mine one of these days. Just so hard to find one in good shape. I had a Z32, but I killed it when I was younger. The next one I want in excellent condition (or able to be restomodded) and keep the VG30DETT.
